How wide passage should be reserved for the electric forklift?
The electric forklift is a warehousing logistics equipment suitable for warehouse operation. When building a warehouse or factory, or placing a new shelf in a warehouse or factory, a passage with appropriate width shall be reserved to avoid affecting the turning, stacking, loading and unloading of an electric forklift, and affecting the work efficiency. To calculate the reserved width of the passage that can make the electric forklift work normally, we need to know a formula: right-angle stacking passage width=the minimum turning radius of the forklift+the front overhang of the forklift+the length of the forklift fork/pallet+the safety distance. The safety distance is generally 200 mm. The front overhang of the forklift refers to the distance from the center of the front wheel of the forklift to the front arm of the forklift. The minimum turning radius of the forklift refers to the minimum distance from the outermost side of the forklift to the turning center, i.e. the minimum outer turning radius, and the minimum distance from the innermost side of the forklift to the turning center, i.e. the minimum inner turning radius, when the electric forklift is fully loaded. Generally, you do not need to measure these data, which will be indicated in the parameter table provided by the electric forklift manufacturer. The deviation of this data is usually 100 mm. It is better for enterprises to add 100mm in the calculation.
The front overhang of the electric forklift, the length of the fork/pallet and the safety distance of the forklift all have fixed values. Enterprises do not need to calculate, and can directly apply the formula. The only variable is the minimum turning radius of the forklift, which needs the attention of the enterprise. Enterprises should pay attention to this data when purchasing electric forklifts. It can reflect the characteristics and many design details of the electric forklifts. In order to help enterprises save space to the greatest extent, electric forklift manufacturers often design the tail of the forklift as an arc with the steering center as the core. The electric forklift manufacturer told us that the minimum turning radius of three-fulcrum balanced electric forklift is smaller than that of four-fulcrum balanced electric forklift.
